Which brings me to the reason I write this post on a health site.

Your brain is amazing.  100 billion neurons, each of which typically has 10,000 connections.  This network effectively makes who you are.  In this respect, health is not just health; it is your life.   May this happy little post remind you to think big, dream bigger, and forever learn new things (learning, after all, amends the connectivity among neurons).  In fact, according to research published in Science, “During learning, neural responses decrease over repeated exposure to identical stimuli.”    Simplified: diversify your experience and your brain responds differently.

Life is limitless in exploratory potential.  We should, in my opinion, open our eyes to the amazing things that our fellow men and women, and even kids, create every day.  Shift focus – the morning news presents the daily bickerings and atrocities of mankind.  Where can you find inspiration to replace desperation?   Brainpickings.  It represents an excellent composite of human accomplishment guaranteed to inspire curiosity and wonder and light up your day with a surprising degree of awesomeness.

What might you discover?

How music works.  The science of smiles.  Visualizing the expansion of the universe.  No ordinary genius.

“Brain Pickings is a human-powered discovery engine for interestingness, culling and curating cross-disciplinary curiosity-quenchers, and separating the signal from the noise to bring you things you didn’t know you were interested in until you are.”
