Alabama’s Largest Yoga Class

(HUNTSVILLE, Al) On Saturday morning, April 28 from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m., Huntsville Botanical
Garden
will host Alabama’s Largest Yoga Class led by Katherine Orton as part of the Healthy
Huntsville
initiative in partnership with Sterling Health. Best of all, the class is absolutely FREE!

Enjoy one of  Huntsville’s most beautiful locations as you relax and stretch your body.  Katherine leads you in a morning yoga routine that will leave you full of energy for your Saturday and Panoply weekend.

This event is beginner level and family friendly.  Complimentary snacks and beverages will be served after the class.

Healthy Huntsville 2012 is a partnership between the City of Huntsville and local businesses and
organizations geared to making Huntsville a healthier city in 2012. It’s estimated that nearly a
third of adults in Madison County are obese, and Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle hopes the
Healthy Huntsville initiative can change that statistic.

The initiative’s goal is to raise awareness on the impact of obesity and type 2 diabetes, educate
the public on the science of health, promote fitness and nutrition, and to provide practical tips
for healthy lifestyle changes.

So come on out to the Garden and start your Saturday off with a series of poses and stretches
that are sure to leave you feeling refreshed, recharged and ready for the rest of your weekend!

How many can you feel? I’m at about 150, up from just 100 a couple months ago. Yoga and other exercise activities that simultaneously strengthen and stretch…Continue Reading

7 Minute Superworkout

Supercharged workouts a la Cross Fit have taken the health scene by storm. The number one request we hear during wellness consultations is for condensed workouts (and recipes) that save time and bust adipose.  I recommend circuit training because it actually trains your body to be more effective at moderating metabolism.  These incremental training sessions…Continue Reading
